3. Water freezes at 0 Celsius and 32 Fahrenheit. What is the y-intercept and what does it mean?

OpenStudy (smileyxl3):

I did most of it already. Just can't figure out what the y is http://imageshack.com/a/img824/1580/skdw.png

OpenStudy (compassionate):

The y-intercept is -160/9 The y-intercept separates celsius and fahrenheit. We know x = celsius and y = fahrenheit On the graph, you can look at the line, graphically, when x = 0, and y = 0. We know that water boils at 100 celsius and 212 Fahrenheit. You can plug in options into the y intercept to get various representations.

OpenStudy (smileyxl3):

Yes, I got that part, but what does it mean?

OpenStudy (compassionate):

I just told you.

OpenStudy (smileyxl3):

Ah woops, must have overlooked it. Ty

OpenStudy (compassionate):

Haha.
