Which of the following is an example of government affecting citizens' daily lives? Voting booths are set up at a library. Local doctors speak to a citizen group. A local group organizes a park cleanup. Road traffic is heaviest in the afternoon.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

D, hahahaha

OpenStudy (jaketylerbarreto):

The answer is D, It is kind of self-explanatory.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks so much, i was thinking about putting that but A had me thinking as well ! do you mind helping me on another one? @JakeTylerBarreto @syndicate12162313

OpenStudy (jaketylerbarreto):

Sure, go right ahead.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sure why not, i guessed on the first one...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You should say you don't really know the answer, but you think it is D, not just tell them an answer for them to get it wrong, or try to explain why it is that answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ehh shut up kfins, lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well theres a clipart of Theodore Roosevelt smashing a goose/duck with his "big stick". The question goes as follows: "Our aim is a democratic peace, a peace founded upon the dignity and rights of every man and woman."—President Bush, 2004 State of the Union The image below represents Theodore Roosevelt, president from 1901 to 1909, known for the phrase "speak softly and carry a big stick." Which of the following is a valid statement about the artist's judgment in the image compared to the quote? A.President Roosevelt was a much tougher leader than President Bush, who clearly was unwilling to go to war. B.President Bush was a much tougher leader than President Roosevelt, who clearly was unwilling to go to war. C.President Roosevelt was willing to trample on human rights to win wars, while President Bush would not. (This is what I put) D.President Bush was willing to trample on human rights to win wars, while President Roosevelt would not. It confuses me cause this is more like an opinion question, and its asking what is the artists judgement. :/ @syndicate12162313 @JakeTylerBarreto

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Can you show us the image?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Kfins99

OpenStudy (anonymous):

C) it is obvious, Roosevelt had more guts then Bush, Bush was afraid ever since he became president, but Roosevelt wasn't afraid of war... he just doesn't like it

OpenStudy (jaketylerbarreto):

I am going to agree with Syndicate, Bush took no initiation towards the human rights toward war type of deal, so yes, the answer is C.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Indeed

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ha a 12 year old knows the answer, yes I am 12...

OpenStudy (jaketylerbarreto):

Good job Syndicate!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@jennymariex3 One way to go about answering something like this is to rule out which ones it can't be. Why do you think it couldn't be citizens voting?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ty Jake

OpenStudy (jaketylerbarreto):

You're welcome, Syndicate.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Lmao, I'm sorry guys, can you guys tell me if i got this correct? @JakeTylerBarreto @syndicate12162313 & then you're really smart for a 12 year old -.- lol thats really good

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you, hahah, im better at history then anything else,

OpenStudy (anonymous):

"In republican government, the legislative authority necessarily predominates. The remedy for this inconveniency is to divide the legislature into different branches; and to render them, by different modes of election and different principles of action, as little connected with each other as the nature of their common functions and their common dependence on the society will admit."–Federalist No. 51 Which of the following elements of the Constitution is the author defending in this quote? A.creating a federal system of government where states and federal government share power and responsibility B.splitting Congress into the Senate and House of Representatives with different structures and functions C.determining the process of electing the president to be through a vote of all members of the legislative branch D.providing ways for the executive branch and Supreme Court to check the legislative branch's powers and actions. (This is what i put)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@syndicate12162313 I've hated history my whole life, I'm an expert at math and science tho haha

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ohhhhh, that sounds great. I need some help with Math.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@DonaldRoyMiller anytime, I'm currently in algebra 2 so anything higher than that, I'm sorry -.-

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I dont know on this one but i am going to guess 2 answers 1) by best answer i have is A, 2) my second answer is C

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It couldn't be A because people don't vote in their "daily lives". Know what I mean? Look at the question again.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but B is also a good answer, on this one i am stuck...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh, you're on to another question. Sorry.

OpenStudy (jaketylerbarreto):

The correct answer choice is definitely B.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

YAY!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@DonaldRoyMiller well, i researched online on this and the federalist papers 51 talked about some sort of checks and balances. and wow @JakeTylerBarreto that was my first choice originally but didn't seem right, thanks ! :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol, i read it bit wrong, i didnt read "The remedy for this inconveniency is to divide the legislature into different branches; and to render them, by different modes of election and different principles of action," right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm impressed. I don't know the Federalist Papers off the top of my head. ;)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im stressing over this though, this is my final exam for my american government course and if i fail it once, i must retake the WHOLE course again -.-

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well i might be able to help with some...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i may be 12, but i have a mind of a 99 year old wise man

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hmm @syndicate12162313 well for the multiple choice, I'm somewhat confident with them. i am about to start the short response portion. my first one is "Imagine a group in the United States protesting American involvement in a war overseas burns an American flag and two people are accidentally burned. Many people want to ban flag burning, while others say it is their right. Discuss your position on the issue and include an explanation of how it relates to an amendment in the Bill of Rights." I am going to write about the 1st rights amendment and I'm guessing the texas v. johnson? whats your opinion?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't know my amendments yet, but i am going to say that flag burning is a right, it shouldn't be illegal, it is an important flag, but if two people get burned, that is their own fault...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the only problem is that nobody was hurt in texas v johnson and in this 'scenario', two people were hurt. so I'm not sure. whats your opinion @JakeTylerBarreto ? lol sorry for the bother -.-

OpenStudy (anonymous):

he isnt here anymore lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i saw :/ lol @syndicate12162313
