Can anyone provide me with an objective history of vaccines? It doesn't need to start with the chinese or anything like that.

Here's what I've got so far: The first vaccine was invented in 1796 to combat smallpox, which is a potentially fatal disease. Ever since then, vaccines for many other diseases, such as rabies, tetanus and cholera, to name a few, have been invented and put into popular use. As with all new technology and medical advancements though, there were always a few people who didn’t believe that vaccines were safe. However, it wasn't until 1998, when Andrew Wakefield published a scientific paper linking vaccinations and autism together, that people really started refusing to vaccinate. Ever since then, there’s been an ongoing debate about whether vaccines are really safe, and if parents should give them to their children.
