Infrared light has a wavelength of about 10 microns. What is its wavenumber in cm-1 (number of waves in one cm)?

Wavenumber is inverse of wavelength thus wavenumber will be 1/(10*10^-6) that's it. The ans will come in m^-1 so divide by 100 to get ans in cm^-1
