WILL GIVE MEDAL! What is the domain of the function graphed below? (Picture below)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

domain is everywhere x is defined

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so (-infinity, -10)u(-10,infinity) is your domain

OpenStudy (anonymous):

notice you would not include brackets because at x=-10 x is undefined so it would get a parenthesis

OpenStudy (shamil98):

no @jrn1007 the domain is for all real numbers except -2. where the vertical asymptote is the number line is divided into 5 sections each with 2.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

true could barely see the graph

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so it would be (-infinity,-2)u(-2,infinity)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Actually I think it's (-infinity, -3)?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Since there's two functions there would be two answers right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no its -2 because at because you can find smaller values on the x-axis where x is defined, and not two answers but using interval notation it would be two sets

OpenStudy (anonymous):

put a u between the two interval sets to join them

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay got it! Thanks for your help and patience.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and sorry not smaller values of x but larger values of x lol for example -2.5 is bigger than -3
