What is the slope of the line passing through (1, 2) and (3, 8)? slope = 1/7 slope = 1/3 slope = 3 slope = 7

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

Plug in the points into the slope formula. \[\frac{y_1-y_2}{x_1-x_2}--->SLOPE\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@SolomonZelman That is quite an unusual and/or confusing way of writing it. You'd typically write. \[a = \frac{y_2 - y_1} {x_2 - x_1}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y\[y _{1}-y _{2} \over x _{1}-x _{2}\]
