Why is binary form important in baroque music

OpenStudy (bibby):

Some online sources I find say that it's helpful in choregraphing dance.

Sorry, this is beyond my realm of knowledge :{ @bibby seems right. Maybe also something having to do with the repetitions it uses being about moving towards tonal centers (tonic to dominant back to tonic), so it emphasizes harmony - and maybe as a general trend of Baroque moving away from pre-Rennaissane chamber music? Just skimmed the wikipedia, so take that with a grain of salt :P

Binary form was also largely important as it was the bridge from Baroque to Classical Period music, building larger forms that incorporate the binary form (such as the sonata-allegro form) Also, it was important for dances such as the Minuet that were danced in the Baroque period, a more simplistic dance to learn (just learn the first part, Part A then the second part, Part B.) Binary is in AB form
