to Find the perimeter do I just add the sides?
yep, add them up
yeah
Perimeter of what?
thank u just making sure!! of a trapezoid
perimeter: The perimeter of a plane figure is the distance around it.
But you can't say "I just add the sides," what if you want to find the perimeter of a circle?
@skullpatrol while it might be valid... it's still pretty rarely called a perimeter (vs circumference) http://mathforum.org/library/drmath/view/62914.html
"A dictionary that applies "perimeter" only to "edges" will we hope define "edge" in a way that is not limited to straight lines. I'm sure that's what was intended, since they just said "closed figure," not "polygon." In that sense, a circle has one edge." So yes you'd add up all the sides of a circle... the one side :P
we a circle I wouldn't of said sides!
well*
How many sides does a circle have?
Answer: two 1. inside 2. outside
ok? maybe that should be ur next question on here u sound confused
All I'm saying is that the perimeter of a circle is called its circumference. Therefore, the definition: perimeter: The perimeter of a plane figure is the distance around it. includes all plane figures.
ok
@skullpatrol i prefer... How many sides does a cat have? Answer: two 1. inside 2. outside
@agent0smith :D
?... ok well thanks for the help
@mkmkmk those were just jokes :) since you already knew how to find perimeter :)
I know!
@mkmkmk math is FULL of definitions and the definition of the perimeter, perimeter: The perimeter of a plane figure is the distance around it. Is a good one to learn and understand :-)
