How do I tell how f(x) was transformed to make g(x). (it involves vertical shifts)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if \(g\) is shifted for example 2 units up from \(f\) then \(g(x)=f(x)+2\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i agree

OpenStudy (anonymous):

But my questions are kind of more complicated than that.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what sort of questions

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I forgot to bring the practice book home, but I know that they're not that easy.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so if you can divide or multiply f(x) by a number to get g(x), then f(x) can be transformed to create g(x)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok. BUt how do I find the transformation?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you can divide one equation by the other, or subtract one equation from the other

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok. You are a WAY better teacher than mine right now.
