OpenStudy (anonymous):

Chalcopyrite (CuFeS2) is a principalmineral of copper. Calculate the number of kilograms of Cu in 3.71x10^3 kg of chalcopyrite.

OpenStudy (zpupster):

we find the molar mass of Cu is 63.55g and the molar mass of Chalcopyrite (CuFeS2) is 183.5g we find percent Cu by (63.55/183.5) x 100% = 34.63% Now .3463 x (3.71 x 10^3) = your answer

OpenStudy (chmvijay):

@zpupster its not molar mass of Cu , its atomic mass of CU :)
