The range of the following relation: R: {(3, -2), (1, 2), (-1, -4), (-1, 2)} is {-1, 1, 3} {-1, -1, 1, 3} {-4, -2, 2, 2} {-4, -2, 2}

OpenStudy (aggie12341):

{-1,-1,1,3}

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I knew it! Thanks!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@aggie12341 I have other questions. Mind helping me?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@aggie12341 Incorrect

OpenStudy (aggie12341):

sure..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The range is the set of all possible values for y.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So you would be interested in the y-values in that relation.

OpenStudy (aggie12341):

Add me @Easyaspi314

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what?

OpenStudy (phi):

the range is the set of y values. sets do not have duplicates in them.

OpenStudy (aggie12341):

{-1,1,3}

OpenStudy (phi):

to do this problem look at your (x,y) pairs. and write down all the y values (2nd number in the pair) if you get a duplicate number, ignore it (no copies allowed) whatever is left is the range.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@phi Thanks, I got it :) I have a few others, can you help me understand them?
