Two moles of nitrogen gas are contained in an enclosed cylinder with a movable piston. If the molecular mass of nitrogen is 28, how many grams of nitrogen are present? a) 12% b) 6.4% c) 2.8% d) 1.14% c) 0.86% Can someone please explain the steps to solve?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't understand the question, I'm sorry. What do the percents mean?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

To find the number of grams of Nitrogen, you would just convert the number of moles to the number of grams via \[ \Big( \frac{2 \ mol \ N_2}{} \Big)\Big( \frac{28 \ g \ N_2}{1 \ mol \ N_2} \Big) = \# g \ N_2\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so the answer is 56?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

56 grams, yeah - I have absolutely no idea why the multiple choice are percents.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It makes no sense.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

darn yeah i updated them but theyre still wrong

OpenStudy (anonymous):

only the first a-e is correct now
