If you look at the diagram and look where there is a phase change, examine the temperature line, is it going up? is it going down or is it staying the same? Now look at the energy (x - axis), if the line moves to the right it means it's increasing. So is it moving more to the left? (meaning increasing) is it stopped? Based on that observation, you can make an assumption.

You know what a phase change is right? It is when between change of state from Solid to Liquid, from liquid to Steam etc..
