We did an experiment on Titrations and the post lab questions are "what if" questions which, basically states that we did something wrong and what could happen.. I only have 2 questions left that I can't really understand.. Q1: A student over titrated the KHP solution, but ignored it and continued on with calculations. Q2: A student finished the titration without waiting for the pink color to persist for 15 seconds, recorded the Vol of NaOH used just to notice that the pink color disappeared. He ignored this and proceeded with calculations -Thanks!! I really appreciate the help! (:

Well, in the case of the first one, his calculations would be over in determining the amount of the NaOH used (or vise versa). In the case of the second one, the same as in question one, except on a smaller scale. Depending on what you're titrating, it might be off by a little bit, or much larger figures.

It's usually not that much of a problem in the case of question 2, but the figures will be off by at most a 0.50cm3. (But that always depends on the titre)

A good way do titrate, is by gripping the valve with your left hand, then in your right hand, gently swirl the contents of the conical flask/beaker... this provides for an accurate titre. Hope this answers your questions :)

Thankkk you so much!(:
