Sapphire: Hope you'll look up "straight lines," "slope of a line," etc., in your textbook, for illustrations of these four different types of slopes. In this illustration we see a dark horizontal line. The slope of a horizontal line is zero.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

SO its zero slope its that these kind of problems are hard for me and this same thing happened to me last year

OpenStudy (kc_kennylau):

Slope is how much you elevate when you walk for a certain distance

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh

OpenStudy (mathmale):

Kenny, nice drawings! However, I must take issue with that for "undefined slope." Undefined slope occurs when we have a vertical line: the "run" is zero, so we get division by zero in trying to compute the slope.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is that an undefined slope

OpenStudy (kc_kennylau):

Oh @mathmale sorry I didn't notice the meaning of undefined slope

OpenStudy (kc_kennylau):

yep
