why was the ruling in McCulloch vs Maryland significant

OpenStudy (anonymous):

McCulloch V. Maryland was a Supreme Court case that the court decided on during the year of 1819. It was significant because it established the precedent that Congress could incorporate banks, and that state governments could not tax instruments of the federal government (in this case, The Second Bank of The United States) that were tasked with the execution of constitutional powers.
