If 5.22 mol... (Rest will be posted in a moment)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If 5.22 mol of ethane (C2H6) undergoes combustion according to the unbalanced equation C2H6 + O2 --> CO2 + H2O how much Oxygen is required? Answer in units of mol

OpenStudy (rina.r):

The equation for any combustion reaction is Hydrocarbon + Oxygen --> Water + CO2 and Energy Therefore the unbalance equation will be C2H6 + O2 --> H2O + CO2 Balanced it is 2C2H6 + 7O2 --> 6H2O + 4CO2 so per 2 moles of C2H6 7 MOLES of oxygen are needed. 5.25/2 is 2.625 (ratio) Multiply 7 by that number 18.375 moles
