You have to type in your answers first. When you are done, let me or anyone else check it for you.

can you help me, not do it for me but help

im not sure how to get the Molar Mass

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Erase ie: salt (NaCl) Let say I have 2.0 gram of the salt given to me. 1. Mass of substance: 2.0g The molar mass of my salt based on the molecule (NaCl) 2. Molar mass of substance = (22.99 + 35.45)g/mol = 58.44g/mol * 22.99 is the molecular weight for Na and 35.45 is the molecular weight for Cl. 3. Moles of my substance: 2.0g/(#2) = 0.0342 mol 4. Moles of each element; Na = 2.0g x (1mol/22.99) = 0.0870 mol. Cl = 2.0g x (1mol/35.45) = 0.0564 mol. 5. Atoms of each element: Na = 0.0870 x 6.02*10^23 = ... Cl = 0.0564 x 6.02*10^23 = ... ...

ok i getting it now

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you made that way easier for me thank you

OpenStudy (anonymous):

5. would be Na 5.2374 Cl 3.39528 is this correct ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@bpaulorg

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the number is ok but you forget to put the exponential power to it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ops

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how do you put that ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

For Na, the correct way of doing it is 5.2374*10^22. Exponent denoted (E) is basically '10 to the power of something' like 20, 21, 22, or other. This is all math stuff.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

o ok thank you
