Climbing out of bed is sometimes hard in the morning. If you have a mass of 60 kg, what is the minimum amount of work in joules you have to do to get out of bed? Assume your center of mass when lying in your bed is 0.75 m above the floor, and your center of mass when standing is 1.25 m above the floor

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The work in raising your center of gravity 1.25m-0.75m=0.5m is the force [mass times gravitational acceleration) times the vertical distance, W = F d = (60kg) (9.8N/kg)(0.5m) and your answer is in Joules.
