Can someone please check my answer? Armando has a previous balance of $1,537 on a credit card with a 23.4% APR compounded monthly. If he made a payment of $84 this month, what is the new balance on his credit card? $1,482.97 $1,896.66 $1,453.00 <-- My Answer $1,812.66

OpenStudy (the_fizicx99):

1,812.658 -> 1,812.66 I think :P How I solved; 1537 * 1.234 - 84 <- Maybe? What do you think

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Honestly, I'm not sure. I guessed on this one. That is why I wanted someone to check it

OpenStudy (the_fizicx99):

Why did your guess lead you to C?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't know. I just chose it.

OpenStudy (the_fizicx99):

well I'd say D. :> best of luck!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks (: @tHe_FiZiCx99 Do you think you or both of you could help me with another one?

OpenStudy (the_fizicx99):

Both? He's watching >.> lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thought he might want to help...lol but anywayy can YOU help me with another one? (:

OpenStudy (the_fizicx99):

Maybe, might understand it xD

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol okay. Sandra bought a television from a rental center. She makes 18 monthly payments of $42.96 with her credit card. The rental center charges $2.65 for every purchase made with a credit card. She also had to pay late fees in the amount of $31.50 seven different times. What is the total cost of the television? $993.8 $1,041.48 $773.28 $820.98

OpenStudy (anonymous):

My answer is B. $1,041.48

OpenStudy (the_fizicx99):

46.08 + $2.65 = $48.73 purchase per month plus the purchase charge.. $48.73 * 18 = 820.98 31.50 * 7 = $220.50. 220.50 + 820.98 = $1,041.48 B?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol I just felt like it was too easy to do, so I thought I should check it because nothing is that easy in Algebra haha

OpenStudy (the_fizicx99):

What do you think?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think it's B too

OpenStudy (the_fizicx99):

Okie, Gl!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you very much! I'm about to submit it, so I'll let you know if you were correct (:

OpenStudy (the_fizicx99):

Oh god.. :S .. I'm a nerve wreak to submitting..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm the same way haha

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hold on, I have two questions left

OpenStudy (the_fizicx99):

K

OpenStudy (anonymous):

...Mind helping me with one more? It's finding out tax liability :l

OpenStudy (the_fizicx99):

What'd you get? :$

OpenStudy (anonymous):

For the question I'm stuck on?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol Yeahh I know, that's why I mentioned the tax liability part. Not sure how much you know about it haha

OpenStudy (the_fizicx99):

You'd be surprised.. :s Question?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(Coming off a chart) Taxable Income: Tax Income: $171,850–$373,650 $41,827.25 plus 33% of the amount over $171,850 James has a taxable income of $254,129. What is his tax liability? $27,152.07 $68,979.32 $83,862.57 $125,689.82 There we go (:

OpenStudy (the_fizicx99):

-Facepalm- -sigh- I'll try, gimmie sec

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sorryy :x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

My answer is C. $83,862.57

OpenStudy (the_fizicx99):

Why C, it might give me a clue, lead to adjusting my process >.<'

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol Well, it was the closest answer to the one I got which was like 84 thousand something

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What I did was I subtracted 171,850 and 41,827.25. Then I multiplied that answer with 33% and then added that answer with 41,827.25 If that makes any sense at all

OpenStudy (the_fizicx99):

I honestly don't know. I guess you could go with C if it makes sense to you, trial and error. :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay. Thanks for the effort! :D And I'm still working on that last question, so gimme more few more minutes and I'll let you know if you got the other two right (:

OpenStudy (the_fizicx99):

:$

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The first one was wrong :x The second one was correct :D And I was wrong on that last one >:l

OpenStudy (the_fizicx99):

Sowwie.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's okay! You were really helpful anyway because you were the only that would attempt to help me with these, so thank you for that (:

OpenStudy (the_fizicx99):

That makes me feel even worse.. only help and failed in one of 2 ;_;

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's better than getting them all wrong. I tend to look at the glass half full instead of half empty. (:

OpenStudy (the_fizicx99):

:D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I would become your fan, but my computer wont let me >:l

OpenStudy (the_fizicx99):

Yea.. OS isn't working right. I can't look at my own profile. You can do it after they fix it, if you want :P Baii!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol bye!
