Composite functions Find F(G(X)) F=x^2 +x +3 G=x-5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

f o g is basically just (x-5)^2+(x-5)+3.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So you let g(x) be your new 'x' then input this new 'x' into f(x) so you'll get: let us call our new 'x' 's' so now s=x-5 then we replace every 'x' in f(x) with our 's' this gives us f(g(x)) so we'll get: f(g(x)) = (x-5)^2 + (x-5) + 3 then you just simplify it :-)

OpenStudy (amtran_bus):

Thanks! I actually got that. Proud of myself!

Good job!
