jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

first solve for y by getting y alone on one side :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well then put x=0 correct?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Then you would solve for x right?

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

yes, to get the y-intercept :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay... So x=5 and y=2?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Then what?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Wait (5,2)

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

not quite when you solve for y you get --> y> -2/5 x + 9/5 so y-intercept: y = 9/5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Then what do you do? I know you have a dotted line and you shade in part, but what part?

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

once you get your dotted line you would shade in the part above the line because of the "y >" part :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay, so if it were the same problem but a < sign it would be shaded at the bottom?

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

yep :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay, thanks for clearing that up!

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

you're welcome :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Why did you give me a medal? @jigglypuff314

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

because you were able to answer most of it by yourself without me having to go step by step by step by step by step by step by step... :P

I catch on fast :)
