lim x -> inf: 3x^2 +1 / 5 x^2 +1 is the answer 3/5?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes It is

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x^2 pulled out (3 + 1/x^2) / 5 + 1/x^2)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Now apply limit :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

don't confuse me:) 3/5 is the final answer? or I need to do something else?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That is all you do.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok, thanks, looks like I start to understand limits

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Just remember that there are cases where the limit does not exist because the left and right hand limits don't agree. When I first started on calculus I once forgot that fact and failed miserably on an exam question.
