About electron configuration: In the d-orbital I know there is something weird that happens where electrons are stolen from the s or p orbital to make a more stable electron configuration... can you please describe this to me with examples using the elements in the 3d orbital please?

refer to your transition metals. their reactivty is based around it's d-orbitals. This includes Fe\(^{2+}\), and Cu\(^{3+}\), and so forth.
