John’s clock is broken. The minute hand rotates around the clock correctly, but the hour hand is stuck in the three o’clock position. Suppose John first looks at the clock when the hands are aligned and it shows 3:15. He looks at the clock again and sees that the hour and minute hands of the clock form the arms of an angle measuring –145°. Through which of the following could the minute hand have rotated to reach its current position? (1 point)

A. –35° B. –505° C. –325° D. –415°

Please someone help

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

3:15 is when the two hands of the clock line up with each other then for the minute hand to move -145 from the hour hand... it means that it move -145 degrees from it's original position... one rotation is 360 degrees the options for B and D are over 360 subtract 360 from options B and D to make them look easier then compare which one is equal to -145 degrees

so I do 505-360=145

I think so :) I don't usually do this sort of math, so I could be wrong... but it sounds about right >,<
