y= 3√2x

what's the question

List the intercepts and test for symmetry.

That's a cube root by the way.

For intercepts you solve for x and y @ 0. So x=0, y=x^(1/3). y=0^1/3. 0 raised to anything is zero. Next for y=0. 0=x^(1/3). If you cube both sides 0^(3) = x. We found that there is only one x and y intercept at (0,0). Next for symmetry you have to test if f(-x) = -x or x. In this case it means we want to know if you times (-x) * (-x) * (-x) is going to give us -x or positive. Since it is odd, we can see that there will be an x * (-x) at the end. If the exponent was even, it would be x * x, or (-x) * (-x), both of which end up positive. Since we can see that we end up with f(-x)=-x it has origin symmetry. In other words if there is a point (1,1) there is also a (-1,-1).
