Using table A, what is z? The point z with 85% of the observations falling above it.

OpenStudy (mathmale):

Iawls: This sounds like a question related to percentile(s), and your Table A like a table of areas under the standard normal curve for specific z-values. Are my assumptions correct? Probably the main reason you haven't rec'd any replies until now is that you neither provided "Table A" nor hinted on what "Table A" is all about. We describe the point z (a z score) as that which separates the upper 85% of observations from the lower 15%. That 15% corresponds to the area 0.1500 to the left of this z score. Look for the area 0.1500 in your Table A and obtain from Table A that z-score. Write back if you need further help with this. Good luck!
