A sample of solid graphite is heated with an electrical coil. If 164 Joules of energy are added to a 13.3 gram sample and the final temperature is 38.8°C, what is the initial temperature of the graphite? I know the formula is q = (s)(m)(change in T) but what would each be in this case? m = 13.3 and final temp is 38.8, so how do you go about it?
