Which of the following atoms forms an ionic bond with a sulfur atom? (Points : 3) Cu H Cl I

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ionic bonds form between a metal and a nonmetal. What do you think?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Copper Sulfate(CuSO4) is an ionic bond. This is because copper is a metal, Sulfur is a non metal and oxygen is a non metal. A covalent bond is formed between Sulfur and Oxygen as they are both non metals but the bond between the Copper and the Sulfate is ionic as one is metal and the other a non metal. The Copper part of the bond is a cation which simply means a positively charged ion and the sulfate part is an anion since it is a negatively charged ion.
