How do you do the step function brackets in Latex? looks like [ except double vertical lines. Thanks!
latex for what exactly do you need, I am sorry, i don't get the question.
just use [
space ~ (in equation editor)
step function|dw:1387418973518:dw| looks like this except clean
I don't exactly get what you are asking, hold on....
\[[|.............| ]\]this?
\[\huge [|x|]\] ?
\[\sum_{a}^{a}~~~~~~~~~~?\]
\huge\color{red}{ } fill in the space feel free to switch the color.... [| |] and you can paste this into the huge latex. it would look like \huge\color{red}{ |~~~~~ | } looks like \[\huge\color{red}{ |~~~~~ | }\]
Or\[\huge\color{red}{ [|~~~~~ | ] }\]this is used: \huge\color{red}{ [|~~~~~ | ] }
All depends on what you need.
The floor function is also called the greatest integer or entier (French for "integer") function, and its value at x is called the integral part or integer part of x; for negative values of x the latter terms are sometimes instead taken to be the value of the ceiling function, i.e., the value of x rounded to an integer towards 0. The language APL uses ⌊x; other computer languages commonly use notations like entier(x) (Algol), INT(x) (BASIC), or floor(x)(C, C++, R, and Python).[7] In mathematics, it can also be written with boldface or double brackets [\![x]\!].[8]
\[ [\![x]\!]\]
just type [\![x]\!] and you get the double brackets around the x. supposedly, you can do double parentheses as well... \( (\!(x)\!)\)
i think the \! shrinks the space in between i wonder if it works with adjustable size brackets and parentheses?
for space use ~ the more of ~ you use the bigger the space
\[\left(\!\!\!\left( \frac{ a }{ b } \right)\!\!\!\right)\] had to use 3 \! in between two \right( \right(\!\!\!\right( etc. for the left.
pretty fricking cool!
that works too...
i guess \! creates "negative space" between things just like \, or \: creates more.
\huge\color{purple}{\huge {\bbox[5pt,lime,border:2px solid purple]{ TRY! }}} COLOR COLOR COLOR of the Font BORDER words \[\huge\color{purple}{\huge {\bbox[5pt,lime,border:2px solid purple]{ TRY! }}}\] use inside equation editor.
you can change color of each the way you want to
that's cool!
yeah, you can underline too.
There, {\huge\color {blue }{\underline{I~~~am~~~n o t~~~good~~~at~~~latex \text!}}\\ } in equation editor, \[{\huge\color {blue }{\underline{I~~~~am~~~~n o t~~~~good~~~~at~~~~latex \text!}}\\ }\]
\(\bbox[5pt,blue,border:2px solid red]{\huge\color{cyan}{\underline{I~~~~suck ~~~~at~~~~latex\text!}}\\ }\)
\bbox[5pt,lightgrey,border:2px solid red]{\huge\color{(•‿•) }{\underline{I~~~~am~~~~n o t~~~~good~~~~at~~~~math~~~~ \text!}}\\ } see the colors?
thanks SZ, i've got to roll. there's a whole latex section but i'm not very well practiced. i'm learning, though. have a great night!
but I have a smile instead of the text color, sorry.
Anytime, if you have a specific question I might be able to help....
