OpenStudy (tester97):

How do i solve this? let f(x) = 3x-6 and g(x) = x-2. Find f/g and its domain.

OpenStudy (tester97):

@Luigi0210

OpenStudy (luigi0210):

Do you know what it means, first off?

OpenStudy (tester97):

yea it means u have to divide 3x-6 by x-2? then find the domain?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\frac {3x-6}{x-2} \] in mathmatics, we are not allowed to divide by zero, so what value for 'x' would make the denominator of x-2 equal to zero?

OpenStudy (luigi0210):

^He can help, I gtg

OpenStudy (tester97):

to make x-2 equal to zero x would have to be 2 right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

correct! ^_^ if x=2, then x - 2 2 - 2 = 0 so, x can be any number Except 2. recal that the 'input values' or 'x' is considered the 'domain' so that means the domain is all real numberx Except x=2

OpenStudy (tester97):

ok thanks :)
