HELP D:

Don't let the fact that it's a word problem scare you; it's the same as the last "find the inverse function" problem I helped with. 1. Replace A(n) with y 2. Swap y and n 3. Solve for y

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Inverse function of f(x) = y is g(y) = x. How to get ? For example A = f(n) = 2n - 15 --> You must write n = g(A). In order to do that, move all terms except n to the other side. We have A + 15 = 2n, then n = (A+15)/2 = g(A) Therefore, inverse function is (A+15)/2. The answer is A.

Remember that when a function sends x to y (or any variable to any other), the inverse function will do the reverse. It will send y to x. In this question, A(n) sends n to a number, I'm calling it y. Then the inverse function, in the question they call it N(a), sends a back to y. That's why the method I described works.

Let me know if you don't understand what I said, and I'll post my work.

thank you both! @Xeph @linh412986

@Xeph No I understood it!
