During an Alpine Skiing event, the times of four skiers were listed below. Time is measured in seconds. Skier Skier A Skier B Skier C Skier D Time 114.36 114.40 114.48 114.44 If the stopwatch used was only accurate to the tenth of a second, which skier's time would be different from the others? Skier A Skier B Skier C Skier D

OpenStudy (mertsj):

Round them all to the nearest tenth and find out.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

idk how to do that @Mertsj

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

If the last number is 5 or greater, you will round up, if it's less than 5, you will round down Example: 115.52 = 115.5 115.55 = 115.6

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

Does that make sense?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes thankyou

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

You're welcome

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

So, what's your answer now, knowing that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but would you round the first or the 2nd #. ex: 11.23 after the period what number do u round the first or 2nd @sleepyjess

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

the 2... in that case, it would be 11.2

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

If it were 11.26 it would be 11.3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok thank you can you help me on another problem in about 5 min

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

the first number after the decimal is the tenth, the 2nd number is 100th, 3rd is 1000th, etc.

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

Sure, just tag me in it when you post it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok
