carlos constructed 3 parallel lines as part of an art project. he also drew a line line passing through each of the parallel lines. some of the angles formed by the intersection of line T and lines L, M, & N are numbered, which conjecture can carlos make about the angles formed by line T and lines L,M,N?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the passing lines are L,M,N

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

angle 1 = angle 3 = angle 5 angle 2 = angle 4 = angle 6 http://www.mathopenref.com/anglescorresponding.html angle 1 + angle 2 = 180 angle 3 + angle 4 = 180 angle 5 + angle 6 = 180 by definition of linear angles

but its asking what conjecture can he use about the angles?

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

Corresponding angles conjecture? If the transversal cuts across parallel lines (the usual case) then corresponding angles have the same measure. http://www.mathopenref.com/anglescorresponding.html

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so angles 1, 3, & 5 are congruent

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

yep :)
