Synthetic Division Divide 6x^3-4x^2 / 2x^2+1

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

hmm I can see long division there, but not synthetic, synthetic division uses the divisor firstly as in the form of x+a, and your divisors isn't in that form, unless you factor it I gather

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

or simplify the rational first, rather

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So like 6x^3-4x^2+0x+0 over 2x^2+0x+1?

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

for long division, yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(2x^2+1)(3x-2)+2-3x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

6x^2(2x^2+0x+1)? So it will be 6x^4+0x^3+6x^2?

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

distributing?

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

hmm not sure I follow, from what sara17 posted, yes, but not sure what she meant
