It is difficult for many people who were raised in a society dependent on print to understand the recent decline of reading due to the rise of other media, particularly movies, radio, and TV. Nevertheless, each medium of communication makes an indelible change on society. The mass media is no exception. Which best describes the style of this essay? colloquial formal informal all of the above

OpenStudy (anonymous):

first of all, do you know what all the words mean? are they choices?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

colloquial is just everyday conversation, yes? colloquial is just the opposite of formal.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

informal and colloquial are near the same.... okay, do you have an opinion? what do you think?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im not too sure lol, colloquial

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes they r choices

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you think it's colloquial? why?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

formal is speaking with etiquette.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well i know what formal is, and it isnt that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so your saying that u think it is formal?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im lost

OpenStudy (anonymous):

explain why you think it's formal...no i don't think it's formal...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

formal is procedure or set of specific behaviors

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i don't really think it's colloquial because it doesn't...it's... not in the style of...well...it doesn't SOUND colloquial. everyday talking isn't like this..at least it doesn't sound so to me, since everyday talking nowadays are usually with questions, don't you think? like, "did you know". i also feel like the last sentence is supposed to be, "but" or "and" should be in cluded, to make it sound more like everyday talking.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i didnt say that it was formal

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what did you think?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think it is fornal

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i mean formal lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hbu?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes, that what i think too. it's spoken in an "officially" manner. also, if you chose colloquial you might as well have also chosen informal, they sound similar. and all of the above isn't really an option, since there are two opposites. can you identify them? [hint: one opposite consists of a pair]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you im taking a test and really need help on it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohhh. i really hoped i gave you the right impression...i don't really want you to get this wrong. i triedi got to go now. your welcome. good luck! (;
