Can someone please help me! I need help creating a sum of squares quadratic function. Steps please.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What's troubling?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't now how to create a sum of squares function

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So what's the exact question?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Your friend runs up to you, scared that he is not ready for the upcoming quadratics test. To help him study, you will create four different quadratic functions. Then demonstrate to him how to rewrite each function as a group of factors, if possible. The function f(x) is a difference of squares. The function g(x) is a sum of squares. The function h(x) is a perfect square trinomial. The function j(x) can only have a GCF factored out of it. But I need help with the 2nd one g(x)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How did you write a difference of squares?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I wrote (x+9) (x-9) and then I used foil to come up with f(x)=x^2 - 81

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Now you see that is in the form of a^2 - b^2 You just need to write something in the form of a^2 + b^2 Simple

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so would g(x)=x^2+4be a sum of squares?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

Thank you.
