solve x^2/3 = 4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

First you can divide each side by (1/3). This is because the problem can also be looked at like (1/3)(x^2) = 4 x^2 = 4/(1/3) = x^2 = 12

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

hmm right divide both sides by 3 then take square root to both sides

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

ohh... ahmm shoot.. is a denominator 3.. I see ok... then multiply rather, both sides by 3 first then take square root to both sides

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

\(\bf \sqrt{\cfrac{x^2}{\cancel{3}}\cdot \cancel{3}}=\sqrt{4\cdot 3}\)
