does a direct variation contains a y intercept

OpenStudy (inkyvoyd):

Yes. But the y intercept is zero ;)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes, but here's the problemI'm facing. {(1,3},(4,6),(8,10),(12,14)} y=kx y=1x But I can'tfind the y intercept. Also the equation didn't work.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is this still/are a direct variation?

OpenStudy (inkyvoyd):

the y intercept of ANY direct variation is (0,0)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Does it matter if the formula works?

OpenStudy (inkyvoyd):

the reason the equation doesn't work is because the formula is incorrect. the equation does have a slope of 1 but it also has a y intercept of 2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So it's not a direct variation

OpenStudy (inkyvoyd):

Nope.
