On Tuesday, Elena completed 20 items of her math homework in 36 minutes. At that same rate, how long will it take her to complete 35 items for Wednesday's math homework? 71 minutes 63 minutes 41 minutes 35 minutes
Okay, so let's figure out problem per minute. How do you think we would do that?
@SolomonZelman and @SamuelAlden917
Hi, I'm here to help :)
I already figured out the answer, but I'm gonna walk you through it
@undeadknight26, Yeah I know.
But how are you going to help me if you keep leaving? @PixieDust1
@undeadknight26
I asked you a question and am waiting for the answer. I do not give away answers
Shall I repeat my question? And there are other users on here looking for help too. I'm helping more than one person at a time
I don't know?
@SolomonZelman
Okay, so we want to divide the number of minutes by the number of items to get items per minute. So, 36 minutes/20 items = ?
1.8
Correct. So, we now know that she does 1 problem in 1.8 minutes. Let's Now multiply the number of items for Wednesday's homework by 1.8 minutes because she worked at the same rate for both day. So, 1.8*35=?
63 thanks
You're welcome. And 63/1.8=35 just to check our work. Have a nice day!
35 minutes not 63?
No, its 63. The 35 was just working backwards to check our work. Sorry for the confusion. But 63 is the answer
OKay thanks
