Find all the real zeros of the polynomial function: f(x)=x^2+10x+25 and determine the multiplicity of each zero.
I factored and got (x+5)(x+5) which gave me x=-5. so would -5 be the real zero? what is multiplicity and how do i find it?
the multiplicity is equal to the exponential of your largest term
so multiplicity is 2?
it says to find all real zeros so would it just be -5 or would it be +/- 5?
that helps! thanks :)
multiplicity is means you have a *repeated* root. notice that you got x= - 5 twice. the multiplicity is 2 ehuman has made a rare mistake here.
no it is just negative 5, multiplicity of 2
thanks so much to both of you! :)
oh snap, multiplicity.... i need coffee
haha believe me it is way too early for me to function let alone learn pre-cal :p
im going to stop until I get daid coffee. ☺
haha no problem,, thanks again! :)
