@phi @RadEn @ybarrap can you explain in a step by step process if this is right?
@shamil98
do you need help?
I did 2 because if 2/3 * 2/1 = 4/3 4/3 + 8/3 = 12/3 --> 4 4 = 2^2 4 = 4 therefore its ture but I used the answer options, can you explain how to get it if I didn't have the options
I don't know a simple way to solve this equation... but you can test each of the choices and pick the one (if any) that is a solution. In other words, replace x with the "answer" and see if you get a true equation.
I wanted to use a legit method so it not considered "cheating" I know for sure its 2, but isn't there a way to get x without using the options?
You would use numerical methods, or graphing... Here is a graph y = ⅔ x + 8/3 and y= 2^x as you can see there are two solutions. You could use a "root-finding" algorithm such as Newton-Raphson... a technique that uses calculus and a computer...
Lol this is 9th grade Alg. I Honors "." I don't think I can use that method yet >.>
Yes, I was guessing that was the case. This is one of those problems where you test the proposed solutions (just like you did).
Oh so i was suppose to use the choices? ;O
Yep should've graphed it lo thnx for your help :)
