Kurt started a lawn mowing business. He charges $6 for each lawn. He bought a lawn mower for $250 and now, after 3 months, has a profit of $152. How many lawns has he mowed so far?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well all you gotta do is set up the equation

OpenStudy (anonymous):

u know that he charges $6 per lawn...and x is how many lawns he mowed so 6x would give you the money he made cutting lawns

OpenStudy (anonymous):

could you help again? @Paul2R

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh for the first one i didnt finish...you also need to subtract 250 cause that is how much he spent on the equipment

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well think of it this way for #2 do you know what break even means?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it means that the amount it cost you to make the item is equal to the profit made by the item

OpenStudy (anonymous):

therefore....you would do what to the two equations?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes! u did it!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

may i has a medal now?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

btw what did u get for the first question?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that was the same question btw @Paul2R

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):
