Mixtures are different from compounds because compounds have to be: A. physically separated b. chemically separated c. both a and b

OpenStudy (beccaboo333):

a compound is when the atoms of different elements are chemically held to one another. a mixture is a substance that has two or more different materials in such a way that no chemical reaction occurs. A mixture can usually be separated back into its original components, a compound can not. Example of mixture: salt water, because you can evaporate the water and get the salt. it is not chemically held together. ~yahoo
