OpenStudy (anonymous):

is the correct answer

OpenStudy (ijarritos):

d

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

No, @subway_surfers it's incorrect, and stop giving out answers!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how

OpenStudy (anonymous):

give me proof

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

real numbers is all numbers (beside complex)

HanAkoSolo (jamierox4ev3r):

Don't just ask for medals, @subway_surfers . Explain why you got that answer so users in the future will understand. I highly suggest you listen to @SolomonZelman …good work Solomon, keep it up!

OpenStudy (mertsj):

Set of integers: \[J={...-3, -2, -1, 0, 1, 2, 3...}\]

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

Thank you @Jamierox4ev3r

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you are right ambassor but solomon put the proof and i put the answer

OpenStudy (mertsj):

Set of rational numbers: any number that can be put in the form a/b where a and b are integers and the denominator is not 0

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

Yup

OpenStudy (mertsj):

Set of whole numbers: \[W={0,1,2,3...}\]

OpenStudy (mertsj):

Real numbers: Union of rational and irrational numbers.

OpenStudy (mertsj):

So we see that -5 is an integer. It is a rational number because it can be written -5/1. It is a real number because it is rational.

HanAkoSolo (jamierox4ev3r):

I think you may be misunderstanding the question. The question is stating that -5 is all of the listed number sets with the exception of one set. @Mertsj just provided an excellent explanation of why -5 is an integer, why its rational, and why it is real. Does this make sense to you? @samtab ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i did thank u all for teaching me something new and sorry

HanAkoSolo (jamierox4ev3r):

It okay, just remember that in the future, before providing an answer, think it through! :) then type down your thought process so that the person you are helping can follow you, and both of you will benefit from this

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok thank u all

HanAkoSolo (jamierox4ev3r):

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

It's not as specific, the code I mean. I think it should describe more. Also, once you posted the code here, what would you think about a moderator-approved nab from a question?

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

I mean ban, not nab.
