Jane currently has $3,360 in her savings account. Prior to getting paid, she had $1,230 in her savings account. How much was Jane's paycheck?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

This one is actually quite simple, take the amount she currently has, minus the amount she had before. That should be your answer!

AKA, If you are too lazy to do the work, which would be sad.. $2,130.

What are you trying to find here? The amount of money she got paid, right? So let "x" represent the money in dollars that was on her paycheck. The equation would be: $1,230 + x = $3,360 So it would be $1,230 + x = $3,360 x = $2,130

Also what she said. Though, it is much simpler to just subtract, unless your teacher specifically wants you to do it that way. Sometimes math can be a bit weird in the way it is done.

Thank you guys!
