let f(x)=-2x+4 and g(x)=-6x-7. find f(x)-g(x) ... medal and fan

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if you can show me so i know how to do it.. because i need to learn this

OpenStudy (anonymous):

all you do is take each equation substitute them in for f(x) and g(x) so you have: f(x)=-2x+4 g(x)=-6x-7 they ask you to find f(x)-g(x). so you take both equations and substitute the equations in. so instead of having: f(x)-g(x) it now looks like this (-2x+4)-(-6x-7) simplify it and multiply the - to the (6x-7) to get the simplified form: -2x+4+6x+7 then you should know how to go from here. hope that helped

no :/ ...i need further help, if you dont mind

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Only issue with that is it would be difficult if you simplified it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

4x+11

OpenStudy (anonymous):

add like terms from -2x+4+6x+7 you would add -2x+6x to get 4x then you add 4+7 to get 11 the final equation should look like 4x+11 hope that helped
