Is the word in parenthesis subject, predicate nominative or appositive? 1. Both Ben and (he) will graduate at the same time. 2. The driver of that station was (she.) 3. The customers at the passenger window were Sol and (he.) Thanks for any help given, will give medal for any CORRECT help.
1) subject id say 2) predicate nominative id say 3) appositive id say
reasons, 1) he is part of subject, 2) she renames the driver in the predicate, and im not sure about 3, 3 is either appositive or predicate nominative
actually, 3 is probably predicate nominative
No it is not Predicate Nominative I'd say
For number 3
ZUB TELL ME
i said pred nom because it redefines the customers in the pred, it doesnt work as subject, nor appositive
http://www.dailygrammar.com/Lesson-105-Predicate-Nominative.htm https://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/resource/596/01/ Look at the links for more info. 1. he in this sentence is a subject because it is a noun and part of the subject. 2. she in this sentence is a predicate nominative because was is a linking verb and predicate nominatives follow a linking verb. 3. he in this sentence is a predicate nominative because it follows the linking verb, were. if you look in the link i gave you, it says 'Some may have compound subjects, verbs, or predicate nominatives.' so this means that 'Sol' and 'he' would both be predicate nominatives
Oh Em Gee. I told you
