EL tren ___***___ del andén número ocho. would the answer be salió?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The answer would be "salió" IF the tense of the verb is "Pretérito perfect simple".

OpenStudy (bakonloverk):

thank you

OpenStudy (anonymous):

perfect-simple Pretérito tense*

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A pleasure. Sorry, having connection difficulties.

OpenStudy (bakonloverk):

Can you translate this for me? El ___***___ revisa los boletos de los pasajeros.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes. I can. The (masculine) _____ revises the passenger's tickets.

OpenStudy (bakonloverk):

would the answer be revisor?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well, I would think that that's the answer. I am also thinking that this has to do with vocabulary words of trains and railways and the different people in a train. I am not familiar with the vocabulary of this, but maybe, just to make sure, there is a vocabulary list that you can go back to that will have a word whose definition is "revises the passenger's tickets", but I do believe it is reviser ["revisor"] Do you have a vocabulary list?

OpenStudy (bakonloverk):

Well i don't have a vocab list. I just have four words to choose from. revisor revisar revista revisamos

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh! Well it would be "revisor" then. "revisar" is the action of revising. "revista" is a magazine and "revisamos" is when "WE" are revising So, it would be "revisor" ;]

OpenStudy (bakonloverk):

okay thank you! that makes more sense

OpenStudy (bakonloverk):

El profesor ___***___ hablar cinco idiomas. would sé be right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No. It wouldn't. It should be "sabe", because the professor("EL") "sabe hablar".

OpenStudy (bakonloverk):

okay. are tengo tienes tuvo tuvieron El estudiante ___***___ que ir a la oficina del director. i think its tienes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay. It cannot be "tienes". Why? Because "tienes" is used for "tu". I think that you are confused with "tiene" [notice that one has the ending s and the other doesn't] So, it isn't "tienes". Remember: TU tienES EL/ELLA tienE But, since, "tiene" is not one of your choices, lets look at the other choices. "tengo". This cannot be the answer because "tengo" is used for "yo", NOT "el". "tuvo". This can be used for the sentence El estudiante tuvo que ir a la oficina del director The student had to go to the director's office. Perfect, so the answer is "tuvo"

OpenStudy (bakonloverk):

Does tuvo have the same meaning as tengo?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No. "Yo tengo" is when you have. And it is also present tense. ex. : "Yo tengo el papel" - "I have the paper" "El/Ella tuvo" is when he/she had. And it is in past tense. ex. : "Ella tuvo una cita." - "She had an appointment."

OpenStudy (bakonloverk):

ohhhh okay

OpenStudy (bakonloverk):

then what is tuvieron

OpenStudy (anonymous):

"Ellos tuvieron..." "They had..."

OpenStudy (bakonloverk):

okay. Thank you so much!!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A pleasure working with you. Hope to work with you again soon. If you need anything tag me. Have a nice day. ;}

OpenStudy (bakonloverk):

Okay, you too :)
