HELP!! Simplify. 2x + 5 / x^2 + 3x + 2 - x + 4/ x^2 + 3x + 2

OpenStudy (amorfide):

They both have the same denominator So just add the top terms, whilst keeping the bottom the same

OpenStudy (anonymous):

7x+9/x2+4

OpenStudy (amorfide):

(x+9)/x^2+3x+2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The answer in the back of my book is 1/x + 2

OpenStudy (amorfide):

is the x+4 in brackets by any chance? it has to be which would give 2x+5-x-4=x+1 (x+1)/(x^2+3x+2) bottom factorised is (x+2)(x+1) x+1 cancels 1/(x+2)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No its not in brackets :(

OpenStudy (amorfide):

I guess they are implied

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I got x + 1 / x + 2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Its suppose to be only 1 :(

OpenStudy (anonymous):
